Sodium gluconate (C₆H₁₂O₆), the most common monosaccharide, belongs to the aldol

group. It appears as colorless crystals or white powder, and its sweetness is slightly

higher than half that of sucrose. It has a density of 1.544 g/cm³ and a melting point of

146 °C. The melting point of its monohydrate is 83 °C.

It is easily soluble in water. It contains an aldehyde group and multiple hydroxyl groups,

and the aldehyde group interacts with the hydroxyl group on the fifth carbon to form a

1,5-oxo ring structure.Sodium gluconate is easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in

alcohol, insoluble in ether, non-toxic, pollution-free, and will not cause public hazards.

as a corrosion inhibitor in systems with relatively high temperatures or in variable

temperature systems from low to high temperatures.

(3) It has a strong scale inhibition ability. It has a strong complexing ability for calcium,

magnesium, and iron salts, so it has a very strong scale inhibition ability. In particular,

it has an excellent chelating effect on Fe³⁺ and even works in the entire pH range.
